Research

Our principal research areas in computational physics, fluid mechanics, and energy systems.

Bio-Inspired Fluid Mechanics

We investigate the physical principles underlying biological flows and nature-inspired architectures, including transport through complex porous geometries.

The research also addresses bio-physical flows and the transport properties of complex biological geometries.

Lattice Boltzmann & Multiscale Modeling

Multiscale simulation of complex flows with the Lattice Boltzmann Method, including multiphase, multicomponent and reacting flows, alongside high-performance computing applications.

Our original research portfolio includes multiphase flows, multicomponent and reacting flows, and high-performance numerical modeling of complex systems.

Fluid–Structure Interaction

Numerical and experimental studies of the dynamics of moving or deformable structures interacting with fluids, including water-entry and hull-slamming phenomena.

Experimental research includes hull slamming, water-entry phenomena and the response of solid bodies interacting with liquid flows.
